Unusual-Manips infoThis journal is meant as a means to explain the most basic ideas, rules and guidelines of this group.
The Idea
We all know the photo manipulations with a beautiful lady on a beautiful background with some beautiful animals and magical themes.. But we're not looking for those! The name says it all, Unusual-Manips was created to exist for strange and unusual photo manipulations. The more surprising, the better. That said, this group will also be a place where the idea and originality of an artwork is much more important than the skill level of the artist.
This group was created with several goals:
Raise more appreciation for things out of the ordinary
Inspire people to make super original photo manipulations
Collect a wonderful gallery full of mind-blowing artworks
Have fun!
To reach these goals, in the there will be events, projects, challenges and contests. :dum Train of Thoughts - group project!Train of Thoughts
Train of Thoughts is a project in which artists inspire each other. One artist creates a photo manipulation, the next artist will make an artwork inspired by it, and so forth! Eventually it will be a wonderful collection of interconnected works of art.
Inspiration can be anything, therefore you are free in how to be inspired. You can use one of the same stock photo's as the previous artist, make a different artwork based on the same idea or continue the train of thought and philosophize further about the thoughts of the previous artist. The only requirement to the inspiration, is that you describe it in your artist comments.
There is no final date to the project. Because the train of thoughts can theoretically be continued indefinitely. This is not a contest, not competitive, it is just to have fun! Your skill level is not all that important, the thought behind your artwork is the most important thing. All the artworks in the project must h Contest - The longer you look... Deadline: July 3rd, 2017
This is the first contest in the group Unusual-Manips and it is all about elements of surprise!    
One of my personal favourite things in art, is when at first sight, the artwork seems quite regular, but then upon closer look you see a lot of unexpected things. Instead of an in-depth explanation, here are a few wonderful artworks, which will show you what I mean.
Examples

The first two examples both have a lot of different things going on, which makes you have to look longer, and closer, to see everything. Notice the flowers’ eyes in Lyssiana’s artwork? And the upside down kid in theSong‘s piece?  

The second set of examples seem less noisy, more “normal”, at first sight. But upon closer look, there are a couple of surprising elements. In :devamandinevanr Help wanted!For future projects, I need a few people who will help me out to get things going!
What I am looking for is exposure, stock and point prize donators and one or two group staff members .
Exposure
Unusual-Manips is a new group. Therefore, reaching out is not yet as easy. If you could spread the word about the group and its projects, that would be wonderful!
Donators
Because this is a beginning group, I can use some help providing prizes for contests and challenges. Even though I feel contests and challenges are primarily for fun, having a few prizes would definitely encourage more people to take part.
You can send points to my personal profile, DinowCookie, mentioning they're for contests and challenges in this group. If you are a stock provider you can donate the option to give away premium stock to winners of the contests and challenges. Every small bit of help will be much appreciat
